NB, I sure hope for your sake that you don't have Multiple Sclerosis. I was diagnosed myself about two years ago when my youngest son was six months old. Of course, these days you are better off getting that diagnosis than you would be say 10 years ago. The disease modifying medications are not much fun, but there are tons fewer people who lose their ability to walk, etc.
There are a lot worse things you can be diagnosed with. I like to call it my "suffering in silence" disease because I don't "look sick" even though I don't feel well. I consider that in itself to be a blessing in disguise. I think it would be harder to handle if it was something that was outwardly obvious to other people.
Anyway, I just wanted to say good luck and to let you know that if you get that diagnosis, it is not the end of the world. It is manageable. I also wanted to let you know that you are not alone!
Well, it turns out the mortgage issue was just the mortgage company's attorney jerking me around. He was lying! We are in bankruptcy, and he was threatening to file a motion for stay because he said I was 3 months behind. I proved, with the help of our attorney's office, that that was NOT true. Of course, he insisted I had to send a payment overnight for one month anyway even though I had already sent a payment in March. Now I am behind on all my other bills (again) because I had to pay my mortgage TWICE in one month!
Fortunately, my husband started a job today. Who knows how long it will be before he gets his first paycheck.
Oh! My doctor called and gave me good news and bad news. Good news is I have no new lesions from my multiple sclerosis. Bad news is I have to go see a surgeon because I have a bulging disk in my neck and it has gotten worse. Also, I have to go to a opthamologist Thursday because I am having vision problems in one eye.
I know one of these days all the bad news will stop (I hope!). Then I won't know what to do!
I so wish I could help you out! I was diagnosed with MS two years ago when my youngest son was just 6 months old. I know first hand the struggles you are going through! I have an appointment with an opthamologist on Thursday because I am having trouble with my vision on one side. It scares me because I need my eyes to work - well, and for everything else!
Have you checked kidneyfund.org? I don't know how much help they give, but it could be worth looking into. What type of work do you do? I know of some work at home jobs that are legitimate. Let me know if you want me to get those web sites to you.
Yeah. We tried that. The problem is that he wasn't making enough to pay the babysitter! Anyway, it turns out that I was being jerked around by the attorney for the mortgage company. I was NOT behind (well, only two weeks behind) like he said. We are in bankruptcy, and he threatened to file a stay. Even though I wasn't behind, I had to overnight them a payment -- meaning I had to pay a mortgage bill twice in one month. Now I'm having trouble paying everything else!
Anyway, thanks for the input. Cross your fingers and say a prayer for us!
My husband lost his job the day after Christmas and has basically become a professional job interviewer. He is really trying, but hasn't gotten any calls back. Unfortunately, we have gotten a month behind on our house payment. We had to file bankruptcy three years ago and just got a phone call from our attorney's office that the mortgage company is requesting a stay unless we can come up with the money in 48 hours. Basically they want the month we are behind plus this month, or they are going to file for foreclosure. Basically, we need about $1,700 within 48 hours.
Another issue we have is I was diagnosed with mutliple sclerosis about 2 years ago. My medical expenses, even with insurance, have been through the roof. I am not the type of person to ask for help. I am working a full time job plus two contract jobs trying to keep all the bills paid until my husband can find work. We have a two year old who doesn't deserve to end up on the street. Any help anyone could give us would be greatly, greatly appreciated, and as soon as my husband finds work, I will proudly donate to someone else in need.

I am a mother of a 2 year old son. My husband and I try very hard to make a home for our family. He lost his job the day after Christmas and has had trouble finding another one. I have picked up some contract work, and am now working two contract jobs in addition to my full time job. I was diagnosed 2 years go with multiple sclerosis, so the extra work is not an easy task.
Anyway, we got behind one month on our house payment and have been unable to catch up. Our bank is demanding two months (the behind month plus this month) payment within 48 hours. I don't have it and don't know what to do.
